Sreesankara Memorial Tower, Kalady

Kalady is known as the birth place of Sankaracharya, the greatest reformer of the Hindu Renaissance that took place in Kerala in 8th century AD .The entrance of the memorial tower is guarded by two elephant statues. The walls of the memorial feature framed relief paintings narrating the story of Adi Sankaracharya. Large statues of Ganapathi, Adisankara and others are also housed here. The life and times of Sankaracharya unfolds before you as you climb to the top. The view from the top offers an enchanting sight of the entire town. Also, the Sri Ramakrishna Asram in Kalady is a world renowed Asram in India. The Asram is a monument to the great Visionary - Sri Ramakrishna. A beautiful garden with many flowers and plants invite the guests to the Asram.
